2022 World Cup Results Argentina vs Croatia: Score 3-0
Lionel Messi appeared crazy when Argentina thrashed Croatia with a landslide score of 3-0 in the semifinal match of the 2022 World Cup which was held at the Lusail Stadium, Wednesday (14/12/2022) early morning WIB.
Messi contributed one goal through penalty execution, while the other two goals were bought up by Julian Alvarez who also played extraordinary on the Argentine front line.
Thanks to this result, Argentina has the right to advance to the final to face the winner of the match France vs Morocco. Meanwhile, Croatia will compete in the match for third place.
First round
The game was quite tight at the start of the first half. Both Argentina and Croatia are still trying to find momentum to create dangerous opportunities.
In the 32nd minute, Argentina was awarded a penalty after Alvarez was violated by Dominik Livakovic in the forbidden box. Messi, who advanced as the executioner, also finished it into a goal to bring Argentina to a 1-0 lead.
Argentina increasingly had the upper hand after Alvarez successfully doubled his team's advantage in the 39th minute. This goal came from an extraordinary process, starting with a solo run from the middle of the field before beating Livakovic. Score 2-0 lasted until halftime.
Second round
Returning from the locker room, Croatia coach Zlatko Dalic made two substitutions at once. Mislav Orsic and Nikola Vlasic were introduced, followed five minutes later by Bruno Petkovic.
Croatia also took control of the game. However, it was Messi who got the chance in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, his left foot shot was countered by Livakovic.
Messi really overwhelmed the Croatian defense. His brilliant individual action in the 69th minute successfully tricked Josko Gvardiol. Messi also provided an assist which Alvarez completed into a goal. 3-0 to Argentina.
The game tempo of the two teams both experienced a slight decrease in the remaining time. The 3-0 score for Argentina's victory still lasted until the long whistle sounded.
