Check out the course of the match below.

First round

The Portuguese national team took the initiative to attack. As a result, just five minutes into the game, the Selecao managed to excel first. Diogo Dalot, who stabbed into the South Korean penalty box from the right side, released an attractive bait which was struck by a hard kick from Ricardo Horta. The score changed 1-0 in favor of Portugal.

Horta's goal made Portugal more confident in attacking. In the 15th minute Joao Cancelo threatened the Korean goal with a shot from the left, but Kim Seung-gyu managed to break the chance.

South Korea, which relied on counterattacks in this match, managed to break into Portugal's goal in the 26th minute. Starting from a corner kick scheme, Cristiano Ronaldo, who intended to block the ball, instead directed the ball towards Kim Young-Gwon, where the Korean striker grabbed the ball and scored an equalizer.

After conceding, Portugal increased the intensity of their attacks. But South Korea, who just scored a goal, is also more confident in attacking.

The Portuguese national team actually almost scored their second goal through Cristiano Ronaldo. Starting from Vitinha's shot which was pushed over by Kim Seung-gyu, the ball gagged towards Ronaldo who was not guarded. The attacker fired a header into an empty net, but the ball went off the mark.

Buying and selling attacks between the two teams continues. But the score lasted 1-1 until the referee blew the whistle marking the end of the first half.

Second round

In the second half, the game did not differ much from the first half. Portugal still dominated possession while South Korea relied more on counterattacks.

Realizing that his team's game was not progressing, Fernando Santos made three direct substitutions in the 65th minute. Cristiano Ronaldo, Ruben Neves and Matheus Nunes were pulled out to be replaced by Andre Silva, Rafael Leao and Joao Palhinha. Paolo Bento also made one change where Hwang Hee-Chan entered to replace Lee Jae-Sung.

In the 70th minute, South Korea almost reversed the position through a well-aimed shot from Son Heung-min. But Joao Cancelo managed to block that good shot.

Portugal, which was slightly more dominant, even conceded at the end of the second half. Through a counterattack scheme, Son Heung-Min released a through ball to Hwang Hee-chan. The striker who escaped the offside trap successfully scored the ball into Diogo Costa's goal. South Korea won 2-1 over Portugal.

In the remaining period of injury time, Portugal tried to equalize. However, the score remained 2-1 in favor of South Korea.
